1955 Hood ornaments and car mascots were manufactured at a time when the age of the automobile and aeroplane were really coming into their own. The world was recovering from the last world war and finally countries such as America and Britain were getting back on their feet and entering a bright new modern world of prosperity and hope and the car hood ornament designs of the 20th century reflected these modern times.
